Pan African Heritage Museum Annual Conference: CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Board and Management of the Pan African Heritage Museum extend warm greetings and are pleased to invite researchers, scholars, museum professionals, cultural practitioners, policymakers, artists, heritage experts, and students to submit abstracts for the upcoming Annual Conference.

The conference, hosted by the African University of Communications and Business, will be held as a hybrid event, offering both in-person and virtual participation options. The conference will take place at Adabraka, Accra, Ghana.

Conference Theme: The Future of Africa’s Museums: Reclaiming Heritage, Pathways to Restitution and Renewal

The conference seeks to create a platform for critical conversations on the future of African museums, focusing on heritage reclamation, restitution, cultural preservation, innovation, and sustainable approaches to museum development.

Date: 19th to 21st September

Submission Guidelines

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit abstracts addressing the conference theme and related sub-themes.

Abstract Requirements:

  • Institutional Affiliation(s)
  • Contact Information of Corresponding Author
  • Three to Five Keywords
  • Abstract (200–300 words)

Abstracts should clearly outline the research focus, objectives, methodology (where applicable), key arguments or findings, and contribution to discussions on the future of museums and heritage in Africa.
