After a thorough review of its governance structure, the Pan African Heritage Museum is pleased to announce the smooth transition from the International Board of Trustees (IBT) to an Advisory Board.
Dr. Silver presided over a board meeting in September where it was discussed that a structural adjustment was necessary to better match the board’s operations with the varied purposes of its members. The decision to switch to an advisory board was explained, with an emphasis on connections and cultural representation rather than required funding.
Following a due diligence period that ended on October 7, 2024, during which no board members voiced any objections, the decision to implement this new structure was confirmed.
As a result, the proposal was accepted, enabling the board to function as the Pan African Heritage Museum Assembly.
For the assembly’s mission to be revitalized, the restructure is necessary. The advisory board will strengthen its position as the Museum’s ambassadors by providing culturally appropriate programs and artifacts to our diverse regions.
The Assembly’s main objectives will be to support the Museum’s projects, find financial sources, and foster links throughout the diaspora. To maintain efficient communication and cooperation, members will still meet once a quarter.
Although there is no financial requirement to join the Pan African Heritage Museum Assembly, members are urged to make voluntary contributions in order to support the Museum’s objectives.
This restructuring represents an important step toward enhancing our impact and ensuring our integrated efforts align with the cultural aspirations of our membership. We look forward to your continued engagement and support as we continue this new chapter.
